Brief engagement analysis for AiG

Important article, please read (click the link)Google Update 2019: Winners and Losers of the March 2019 Core Update

Please note: The engagement stats below are from Similarweb.com.  To do a much more valid analysis, I would need to see Google analytics data. For example, I believe the Gotquestions.org engagement stats are better. I will discuss these stats in my phone call with you.

Below are the AiG website engagements stats as of 5-16-2023

Ways for AiG to reduce bounce rate and increase pages per visits to their main website

1. Make finding the search box easier by putting it in the upper right hand corner.

As can be seen at a Gotquestions.org's article What is God like? on a typical web page the search bar is in the upper left hand corner. Because people read from left to right and read the top of a web page before the bottom of a web page, putting the search bar in the upper left hand corner would be better to reduce the bounce rate and increase pages visited per session.

2.  On the main page of the AiG website, consider putting a search bar prominently on page like Gotquestions.org does on their main page as can be seen at: Gotquestions.org main page

3. Consider having a better call to action and/or calls to action on the pages.

Right now, on a typical page, the call to action is signing up for AiG's email list. And the sign up button doesn't stand out (like with a color orange button, etc.).

Suggestions:

A. Have a call to action with some exciting resource or product.  For example, something like "Increase your confidence in the truth of the Bible" with a page people can link to.

B. Products on the side of the pages like creation.com does as can be seen at Creation.com's page: How old is the earth?

However, Wordstream's article 11 Easy Ways to Reduce Your Bounce Rate says to have one clear call to action and don't overwhelm your visitor with sidebar offers or you will cause them to bounce.

4. The current AiG answers page at AiG answers page might be improved if we did some research on what topics people were most interested in. For example, is the category of "animals" the second most interesting category for AiG web visitors? Personally, I have some doubt that it is it.

This could be found out by analytics,  consumer focus type group, AiG fan survey or a AiG team content team meeting.

5. Make sure that web articles have a picture on them. And have captions below pictures to create more interest on the picture and to increase time on website. It would probably help with SEO image optimization too.

For example, the AiG web article Seven Reasons Why We Should Not Accept Millions of Years has no picture on it. Web articles with no pictures on them are a big mistake.

6. When posting a new article on the AiG website, the person should do a quick review of AiG's videos to see if a relevant video can be posted.

7. Fix broken internal links if too many.

8. More internal links?

9. Better display of website credibility

A.  Make it easier to find the "about page"

B.   Reviews on key products/services that AiG sells on its website.

10.  Weed out pages with high bounce rates sorting through Google analytics.

11.  Discuss: Neil Patel in his article 13 Ways to Reduce Bounce Rate and Increase Your Conversions says:

"One of the metrics that’s analyzed by Google Analytics is the exit page. If you look at your dashboard, you’ll probably notice that most people are exiting your site from the homepage. The rate at which users exit your site homepage often correlates to a high bounce rate.
